Chinese Olympics
The summer olympics are usually a place of happinness and celebration. The 2008 summer olympics were a far cry of that. China was chosen to host the olympics if they would promise to improve conditions in Beijing and re-evaluate their policies dealing with human rights. They failed to do that with air pollution peaking around the weeks of the games. Citizens' homes were destroyed to build the arenas. "Volunteer" audiences were forced to fill the seats of certain events to give a look of popularity among the people. Walls were placed in front of poor houses at marathon roads to hide poverty and the fireworks show was enhanced digitally. Altogether the purpose of the olympic games were relinquished for the sake of financial gain.
